A communication from a deputation of the Six Nations to the Secretary of War of the United States: manuscript, 1815.

A duplicate of a letter dated 20 February 1815 from a delegation of the Six Nations to the Secretary of War asking for compensation for warriors killed while fighting the British on the side of the United States. Included is a count of how many died and appeals for monetary and arms compensations. Mentions the treaty between the government and the Six Nations and grievance for violation of certain treaty provisions during the war with Britain. Reply dated 11 March 1815 stating the government's compliance with the Six Nations' requests. Signed (copy) by James Monroe, Secretary of War.
